Switched On

A good painting day isn't always easy to find. I forgot how good it feels when your on creatively. Yesterday reminded me of that. I'm working on my next book for Barefoot about a forest & the critters that roam it. (wish I could share more but it's not out until next Fall) Making art day in day out is a joy but some days are definitely stronger than others. Some days I can plug into myself & let colors, textures beautiful ideas flow out. Other days well lets just say not so much.... I pulled the piece I'm showing today (a spread from Who's in the Garden) because this was one of my on days. I think everyone can relate to that great feeling when you find your stride- the stars align, the music in the studio sounds better, there's no doubt just a clear stream of consciousness & so many areas to explore.

Valentines

With love in the air & right around the corner I thought I'd post my valentines today.
These kid appropriate sweet sentiments are available at cardstore.com (go to artist & select my name) We printed a set for Luca to hand out at school & attached a little heart shaped balloon for Mom & Dad to blow up. I always like Valentines day but try not to wait until February 14th to tell the important people in my life I LOVE You! That said I'm still a sucker for the color red, chocolate & flowers.

Target Circo Crib Bedding

Yesterday Liz & I made an outing to Target to check out the NEW Circo Mix & Match collections we worked on. We've had the good fortune of working on this ongoing project for over 2 years now. Liz got this great technical hand that can go tight or loose and I have the crazy ideas. We both love being a part of it.
If you are at Target in the near future check it out. (in the crib bedding isle) The idea is that you can mix & match the look a bit instead of the set being pre-picked for you. We love what they do with the styling in the photography. This is a nice option for the parent who want fun, fresh style without the boutique price. *The image I'm showing is just bits & pieces of the collection for a better look check it out in store. So fun to create art for kids. I like to think of it as making a bright start.

Hello February

So here we are in the month of February. I've been busy with deadlines, projects, classes & mommyhood that I don't even know if Punxsutawney Phil say his shadow? The studio took a two day illustrator class this week. (a program I don't know but need to) My mind is swimming with the possibilities & glazed over with info. Now all I need is some time to practice, practice, practice. If you have any encouraging words about illustrator please share... Would love to know if you like it and why. I'm busy working on my next book for Barefoot - Who's In The Forest. So with a busy schedule I'm thinking it's hello February & in a blink of the eye welcome March. Wow, time can fly!
