Where'd you go?

This is my two year old Frenchie, Sophie.  She is the silliest, nosiest animal you can imagine. We walk her around town, one of us staying outside while the rest of the family pops in a shop or gallery.  I can't tell you how many windows I've seen her struggling to look into trying to spot the family member that temporarily left the pack.  She's on full alert until they are back by her side.

Ice Cream...

The world seems to be brimming with disorder.
Perhaps we need more ice cream?
(I know there's no simple fix but a girl can day dream)

Are WE there YET floral?

Watercolor in the car! This is what I worked on for a bit during our road trip last week to Chicago.
Who knew this medium is actually pretty adaptable to bumpy car rides.  Helped pass the time which was good, I have such a hard time sitting still!

Watercolor

Just started taking a color class at KCAI.  I haven't truly worked in real watercolor since high school. (I just water down my gouache & call it watercolor)  I'm pretty heavy handed & someone once told me watercolor is just as much about what you don't paint as what you do.  (um, yikes!)
I decided to take the class to carve out time in my schedule to experiment with this medium & see if it's something I can add to my skill set... or not!  You never know until you try.

Todays exercise was painting swatches to see how the paint moves & then cut it up or collage on to it.

World Oceans Day

In honor of World Oceans Day my art, What You SEE in the SEA.
This turned into a puzzle in my line with C.R. Gibson.
Hope you get to see the sea soon!

Summer!

Today is my son's last day of 2nd grade.
Love that end of the school year feeling-like you've got
it Made in the Shade!

Calling this print...

the secret of the pineapple.  I feel like they're trying to tell me something.
Drink a pina colada maybe? (hopefully!)

Bon Voyage

Something about summer gives me the travel bug!
