April is here & today boasts two exciting celestial events. First, Artemis II heads to the moon! I'm a space enthusiast & am excited to follow along with this mission. It's a test run (of sorts) to bigger, more expansive missions to come. Also, I don't want to forget to mention that tonight is the pink moon! Not truly pink but called so as it is the first full moon of spring and promise growth and color to come. All of this is a great way to greet APRIL! 🚀 🌕 💓
The spring weekend was effervescent and everyone felt good, even the insects!
Hope you feel good too. 🌷 🐜
A few happy finds....
a chalk drawn rainbow on a blue wall at the playground.
A pigeon's nest with EGGS out the second floor window at the gym
Pigeon egg's hatch within 17 to 19 days. I noticed them a couple days so I'm guessing in about two weeks! 🐣 They start out like a little dino nugget. Let's just say they grow into their beauty!
This was a print Gymboree (the kid's clothing store) commissioned me to make.
I called it NATURE WALK. Above is the finished print.
The prettiest palettes sometimes appear when I'm making art!
I love tea, am crazy for flowers, and adore animals! Pairing three of my favorites here to make something super cute!
I made this duck art a couple years ago and sold it to a gift wrap company for a baby collection. I really liked the art and the sweet spring feel it had.
I enjoy adding little details in the hopes that they are equally as fun to discover!
As you can see this art was made by hand using a painted cut paper technique. I then scan the art in and separate it into layers in Photoshop. There's always some color correction to do as well. (scanning can dull the color)Here's the gift bag they made. Story time ducks was also offered as a gift wrap too!
Today my latest print Disco Rainbows dropped at Little Sleepies and it's a VIBE! 💫
I think it's interesting depending on what side of the globe you live in the different holidays you will celebrate. Today Lunar New Year enters the Year of the Fire Horse. While I take notice from time- to -time what animal year we're in, I couldn't help but want to know more about the Year of the Fire Horse. Sounds so dramatic!
It is said to be a mix of passion, momentum and fearless exploration.
Yes, yes, and YES!
May we each feel a little more of each as we unbridle our inner Fire Horse! 🧧🐴🔥
Hope your love doesn't go extinct! ☄️ 🌋 This is a cut paper dinosaur and Valentine theme mashup that I made a couple years ago & licensed to Design House Greetings for greeting cards.
The above two images show the cut paper work I created. The one below is the final file, cleaned up with layers and ready to sweeten someone's day. ♥️ 🦖I aspire to have more fun. Last night's Super Bowl halftime was the most joyous kind of FUN!
It is February, time to spread some love! I recently found The Cupid Project, an annual volunteer-driven, non-profit that delivers handmade Valentine’s Day cards to nursing home residents. I thought this was super sweet & wanted to join in. For the last couple weeks, I’ve been cutting out a simple heart shape, grabbing markers and doodling lovey-dovey messages while I watch shows in the evening. It is simple, fun and will hopefully make someone’s Valentine’s Day a bit brighter. Visit The Cupid Project if you’d like to join in too!
You can keep it easy by limiting your supplies. Here's what I used.
This is my final assortment for now....
I made this earlier today feeling frustrated and yes, somewhat hopeless. I won’t pretend to have the answer, but I KNOW this is not normal.
I feel lucky to have art to lean into when there's something I need to work through.
My husband is an immigrant from Chile. Who just got his citizen last April knowing it was now consequential if he didn't. I see the hatred, the fear, the bullying (of even small children) and it makes me wonder why we are pretending this is normal.
We can still correct the course. Midterms can't get here fast enough. In the meantime, I'm going find ways to be a little kinder in my everyday interactions.
We're all going through a lot! Especially those without privilege or power.

Spread love and kindness— A couple quick ideas...
The winter is long and cold, the holidays are over, and who really knows what day it is anymore?
Here's to finding your way back into the routine this week.
