Fall Banners

Today I'm posting 2 of the 8 new banners I just finished for the Print Source show in NYC next week. This is a show for the apparel industry so they'll be looking for Fall prints. I remember attending these shows with my favorite boss Lisa when I worked as a print stylist for baby gap. Funny now I'm making the art. Life seems to go in these curious circles.

Tiny Top

Hello & Happy Monday! This week there's a lot to do around here. I'm hard at work on my new picture book & a few other projects. Antonio & I are working on the finishing up all the details for his NY trip next week for the Print Source show. (I'm home with little Luca- so no show for me) There are always a million little details to take care before hand. Liz is off this week on a much deserved vacation- So it's a bit of a three ring circus around here!

Just around the corner...

Fall! I don't want to go to fast though- I'm still loving summer.

Book Give Away

In the Summer Sun...

It's hot here today, which I relish. I'm a happy camper in the summer. I'm busy working on a new picture book for Barefoot Books. I'll need to post a photo of my work room - yikes it's a mess, but through the mess emerges something new. We're also busy working on a product line that we'll take to the New York Gift Show this February 2011. I know your probably thinking February... but trust me creating, testing, producing- it all takes time! None the less it's exciting. I feel like I keep having to dig deeper inside myself, wrestle around with pushing out something new to me. This is hard because it's always a little uncomfortable. Tittering on what you know & moving towards were you need to let yourself go. Comfort though has never my thing. A clue to this is that hardly anyone sees me at the studio but I still dress up & wear my pretty high heels 5 days a week. Crazy, but it makes me feel like I'm going somewhere & I am I'm off to make art that I hope makes people happy!

Medallion Floral

Liz, the very talented designer who works with me made this pretty floral. She's great with florals. I always marvel at how they just seem to come out of her naturally. I like the quiet of this beauty of this one.

Something in the Air?

In the last 48 hours the following things have happened to me:

1. I've had a crazy dream for the past 2 nights

(almost like a sequel were the dream from night one continues the 2nd?)

2. From the blue found out I'll be getting paid a small amount for back property taxes?

3. I saw two hummingbirds on my morning run

4. I was stung by a bee for the first time in my adult life.

Strange but it's keeping life interesting- that's for sure!

Ahhhh Summertime!

I'm heading out of the studio to meet my family at the park. We're off for an evening ride. Nothing sweeter than seeing my little guy on his tricycle. *A special thanks to Gina for the photo I've attached.
