We are counting down the days until Antonio packs up & takes the collection to Surtex. We've got 10 days left. Every year this show just sneaks up on me! Maybe I've been counting like my son Luca. 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-22-46-100.

Spring Cleaning

While I was organizing my desk at the studio I came across Luca's baby announcement. He's so big now... Almost 3 years since he zoomed into our lives - doesn't even look like the same kid. Antonio & I silk screened the announcements on solid cards we got a paper source. This was a fun mommy, daddy activity.

We had a hard time finding something we liked so we made them. I loved all his hair when he was born, he looked like a little baby bird. How time flies!

Free Spirit

I love this time of year. (minus my sweet Luca's allergies, he's allergic to tree pollen & we're wondering when we'll see his dark brown eyes again?...) I look out my window at the studio & all the trees are covered in a lacy green. Pretty but with his spring allergies it doesn't look quite the same. We have some exciting studio meetings coming up. I'm nervous & excited all at once. As an artist you end up putting so much of yourself in your work. You put yourself out there in the world & believe there's an audience for your vision. There's a sort of beautiful freedom in this- taking a chance means you're ready to fly.

Patterned Dots

About a year ago we invested in a fancy large format printer that is able to print on fabric. I'm thinking of printing these dots on dark pink & hanging them somewhere (home or studio) We've been so busy with projects that we haven't spent much time exploring all the things the new printer can do. Wish I had capabilities to make my own rugs I think this would be great as a large wool floor rug. Too many ideas in my head. I'm post some of my experiments printing on fabric in the near future.

What a Day!

It's are first 80 degree day here & it's all I could do to keep myself in my chair all day. Deadlines & preparing for Surtex help. I noticed the boys rug I designed for Oopsy Daisy is up on their site so I thought I'd feature that today. Wish I had a beach near by- but I can't get greedy it is beautiful out so I'm off.......... Nothing nicer than feeling the warm spring air again!
