Zooless

Today we had planned to pick up Luca early from day camp to take an afternoon trip to the zoo.  It's 102 degrees here today so we unanimously decided NOT today.  Instead I'll post some zoo art & set up the sprinkler.  Should do the trick. (keeping a little one busy is no easy task!)

Summer =

FUN, flowers, things that fly & bright vivid color.  Here's a painted floral that's kind of about just that.

Maine

I've always wanted to see Maine.  Tomorrow we will be off to do just that!  I found this painting I made in 2002 when my fascination began.  I know this is a state I could not live in. (I'd don't manage the cold well)  So a summer visit will work perfectly.  I miss hearing a heavy east coast accent from my days living out east.  Can't wait to get my fill of it all.  Goal #1 is to eat lots of lobster!

Father's Day

It makes me so happy to see Luca interact with his Daddy.  I love to see the little inside jokes they have & the comfort & support Luca feels by knowing he is always there. As you can see from time to time I also like to dress them alike. (it's getting harder & harder for them to agree to this :)  Similar to being a mom, fatherhood is a full time job.  I couldn't imagine doing it alone.  So THANK YOU Antonio Gomez for being such a special Daddy!

Look what was waiting for me outside the studio.  Good Morning giant moth!  This guy was so big I think it deserves a name.  Measure about 4/12 " Wow, what surprise!  (looks great against the rich red brick) Until tomorrow...

Baby Coming

Tomorrow is our designer Liz's last day before heading home for maternity leave.  With no baby yet & the due date right around the corner the anticipation is building.  Antonio & I are so excited for her new adventure as a mommy.  We SO appreciate everything she does to help out at the studio.  She has been a real trooper & a valued member of our team!   I remember people telling us your life will never be the same once your baby arrives.  You don't quite get that until it happens.  This will be Liz's first little one.  Any advice for a new mommy?  Please share your tips or stories.  Thanks!

These are the "In Sequence Peep- Toes".  Somehow naming a item makes me want it more.

I'm a sucker for a good name.  I've ended up with bottles of finger nail polish because I loved the name.
Or a bottle of bad wine because the description sounded so flowery & hypnotic.
Think plum & clove intertwined with hints of ripe blackberry, violet & vanilla undertones balanced by
notes of cinnamon & chocolate peek through the finish.  Come on- it sounded so GOOD!
