Summers Last Hurrah!
Thought I’d share a fun Popsicle print as well as a summer sailing piece today. Am I the only one who wonders were the time goes? I’ll miss the sound of lawn mowers, the jingle of the ice-cream truck, the blades of green grass, the extra sunlight, the sunscreen, the swimming pools. Summer is my favorite season. I bid you farewell- but I’m still sticking with the ice-cream... The Popsicles print was fun to make & features a few of my all time favorites like the bomb pop, the orange push up, or just the simple grape juice pop, mmmmmmm...
The sailing print is a little bit random but I just love the idea of sailing seems so poetic to me. I sneak a sailboat in wherever possible. Happy Labor Day weekend!

Halloween Pajamas
Hanna Anderson purchased this print from me & put it to good use on these cute PJ's. (also offered in big kid sizes as a top/ bottom set) If you’re not familiar with Hanna Anderson, check them out. They offer great clothing for kids & adults with nice color, fun prints & all on organic cotton. They also do a great job of giving back to the community. Always a nice touch.

Wow- where has the summer gone?
We are making or Labor Day weekend plans & decided a trip to the zoo would be fun. I love to paint animals they have such personality to me. As you can see I take full advantage of my artistic license. Hopefully our upcoming day trip to the Zoo will provide some inspiration for a new print. Pink penguins anyone?

Sailed through the 1st year!
We had an exciting weekend. Our son turned one, what a year!
We celebrated with family & a few friends. Antonio & his Mom made a big Chilean meal. We had cake, ice-cream & a lot of presents (Is there ever too many presents?)
Today I thought I’d share a little hodge podge of imagery that illustrated a little bit about our BIG day.

More of my art on Pottery Barn Kids puzzles
Today I thought I'd share 2 more prints PB Kids
bought to use on their puzzles. I really like the
dog one. I love to explore variety in the same thing.
(big, little, fluffy, round, long so on....)
Included next to each dog is an interesting fact.
I made this art before I had my son who loves dogs.
He's now calling all 4 legged creatures "dog" with
great enthusiasm.
The constellation art was also fun to make as I
researched each constellation I wanted to illustrate.
I called the print Star Gazing which feels dreamy
& summer like to me.

Olympic team
I’ve been enjoying watching the Olympics. I love the drama of it all. Celebration of the human spirit & tricking it’s usual limitations. I was looking for something to share with a bit of that feeling. I decided to pull these little characters I made - They have a kind of victorious feel. So here’s my break down as to which sport each would excel in:
Monkey =long jumper
Frog=archer
Mouse= swimmer
Bunny=gymnast
Cat= cyclist
Dog= fencer
Skunk=Table tennis
Have a great weekend!

Moving right along.......
Today I thought I'd share the transportation wall art I recently completed. The client wanted a series of art with a different car traveling through a different enviroment for each square. I wanted to keep the cars simple so I went with a collage approach. I ended up running each square through the sewing machine for extra texture and movement. Later I added the text for a meeting I had with a children's book publisher. I hope to have news on that front soon.
I think my favorite square is the City scooter under the stars.
What's yours?

A-Z Fish
Today I thought I'd show a wall art piece I made. I love researching different things and learning along the way. An A-Z list provides the perfect opportunity. I thought fish would be fun due to their variety of color and pattern (two things I respond to). *I think K: kissing gourami is my favorite. What's yours?

Flowers on Olive
Today Liz & I (my lovely assistant) worked on this new floral print. I wanted to play with an unusual pattern. Olive, cream, soft blue, periwinkle, bright coral, teal, golden yellow and hits of black. I like how it has a bit of an ethic feel mixed with a doilies like floral middles and funny mix of leaves. Quirky but cool I think.

Target Baby Bedding
Today I thought I’d share some infant bedding I designed that is currently in Target stores. The more sweet candy palette is for the Circo brand. The set with the chocolate brown, tan & pink is for the Carter's brand. These collections are art directed and end up looking a little more mass than my normal work. Nonetheless, they are pretty and very economical. It makes me really happy to have my work show up at a range of price points & look nice at each one.

33
So yesterday was my birthday. Yes, I’m a Leo. We had a terrific day which ended with a big family dinner. My Mom surprised me with 3 giant pots filled with an array of herbs. I didn’t inherit her green thumb. I love running my fingers across the different leaves & explaining to Luca which herb we’re smelling.
I made myself a birthday banner out of felt. Lots of bold color I’m pleased how it turned out.
