Babushka on pink
I realized a while ago as much as I would like to I can't do it all on my own. I'm lucky enough to have two designers who work with me at the studio. This sweet babushka print is one they worked with me on.
Liz Sims recently graduated from college majoring in illustration/ surface design and Gilda Sordon graduated with a degree in apparel design and is a native of Australia.
Having them as part of my team allows me to spend the weekends with my family. I appreciate all they bring to our little studio!
Yeahhh- Let's hear it for the girls!

Tea and Cake!
It's around 5:00 p. m. so Tea and Cake sounds appropriate. (and let's not forget Friday!) The Teacups is something I did today. I think is a nice start. I will post it once is done so you can see the complete process.
The Cakes print is an older print that I like. I used it as my company's identity. You can see the cake patterns in my website, business cards, invoices, etc.

Fishies in my pants!
This weekend was the first time for my son at the pool. He had a great time and he took like a fish to the water. I wish he could have worn the fishies swimming trunks that Hanna Anderson made with some of my art. I love the way they come out. But by the time I try to order them they were sold out. Maybe next year!
P.S. I want to thank all of you for your comments on the blog. I really appreciate your support and kind words. It makes me really happy to know that my art has made your day a little brighter.

Oldie but goodie!
It was recently brought to my attention that I had some fans out there that liked a scrapbooking collection I made called Pieces of Me for KI Memories. I always liked this collection as it is very painterly. I made it over 3 years ago & at the time really had no idea what scrapbooking was. I’m not sure how well it sold as the look of it was SO different than the usual more graphic style of the company I did it for. That’s why I was so happy to hear it had some fans! It was a little piece of me.

Motorbikes...
I was thrilled to see my Motorbikes art come to life in this new collection available at The Company Kids. I’ve attached the original print as well. I think there will be some happy little boys out there. May you feel the cool breeze on your face, the sun on your skin & of coarse push the pedal to the metal.... Sweet Dreams!

What a wonderfull world
Wow! It's a lot to look At.... I recently finished this World Map wall art piece for Oopsy Daisy. These kind of projects are fun as I learn so much along the way. And also made me think about how much of the world I still have to see. My husband is from Chile. We are planning a trip there for this time next year. One more place that I can check off my list.

My Art in PB Kids puzzles
Last weekend we were shopping with baby Luca. We decided to stop by PB Kids and see what was new. To our surprise we found some of my art on some puzzles. They are very nice and big so you get all the details from the original work.
The Farm piece was done some time ago for a birthday collection. I'm glad they used again for a puzzle. Giddy Up Good Times!

Scrapbooking collections
I recently received a box of scrape booking samples I made for American Traditional. This was perfect timing as during my last trip into Archiver’s I saw bits & pieces of it. The baby group is called Born to Be Wild I loved the brighter palette I was able to use. The birthday collection turned out well too. I like the more sophisticated color palette. I’m showing just a small bit of each collection- it’s so nice to see how it all comes together.
The last bit of papers I’m showing is also for American Traditional. I’m featuring a few of my favorites from a larger collection I created for them.
Update:
I should have mention the name of the collections so you can look for them on the internet.
The first pictures are for "born to be wild"
The second shots are from "life of the party"
and the last one is for "candy blossoms"

My Illustrations in Nick Jr.
I just received a sample of this months Nick Jr magazine where a little sampling of my illustration work appears. I painted some spreads about Momma animals & their little ones. There’s a fun read along child-parent activity section that goes along with it. These days these are my favorite projects. The ones parents & their kinds share together. My main goal is to make beautiful art that people remember. I’m so pleased to have my illustrations among so many other terrific illustrators that Nick Jr works with!

More A-Z fun!
This is a print that PB Kids bought. The placemat is the original print, then they developed the other products from that. They rolled out a whole collection of the A-Z products based off this print about 2 years ago. I was pleased to see the nursery bedding reappear in a recent PB Kids catalog.
What really makes me happy about the design is the quirky icons that go with each letter.

Summer blooms A - Z
For me one of the best part of the warm weather is all the beautiful flowers that show up. Natures free gifts.
It's always been a dream of mine to have my own little flower shop. I think it's the combination of such intense color, with the soft feel of the petal or a fuzzy leaf with the final touch of fragrance that I just adore!
I often wonder if I was a flower which one I would be? I think I'd be a wild sweet pea.
How about you?

The little engine that could
We just received a new batch of bedding samples that I made. I’m in the process of switching out my little guys room so I thought this was a good time to share the Trains collection I made that’s in his nursery now. We live right up the street from an active train track & we hear trains throughout the night. This collection feels like home & I’ve always loved the bright color. (which is the palette I tend to lean towards) I think the multi rings rug may be the favorite thing I’ve designed yet. Walking into his nursery always makes me smile as I’ve been able to make most of what it is seen. (from albums, to pillows, to banners, bedding & wall art)
And I can see also some great friend's contributions. I’m a lucky girl!

Birdwatching...
So I know nothing about birds, however lately
I’ve been thinking about getting a book on
bird identification. I’m fascinated by their
variety. We recently bought a little bird
feeder for the studio. We hung it right off
our front porch next to a big window.
It seemed to take a while to get the
word out- but once they caught on
we have winged visitors showing up all day.
Next I guess I need a bird bath.
