What a World
I made this piece a couple years ago for oopsy daisy. (it's a wall canvas) Lately I've been thinking a lot about the world. (long days with NPR) Some pretty remarkable things going on. I don't know if I'm old enough now to better digest what is happening, if I'm more in tune to hearing information, or if being a mom gives me a new level of empathy and concern. I'm not sure. Todays post is just a simple release of positive art & energy in honor of all the beauty in our world.

Isn't it Ironic....
That you get to find out one of my bad habits over this photo from Perez Hilton. (a weekly indulgence of mine- I know waste of time but ugghhh I keep going back) So the photo is Alanis Morrisette with her new baby wrapped in the blanket from the Target Circo collection Liz & I designed. I was shocked. I'm really looking forward to May when my Jill McDonald Baby line comes out in Babies-r- Us. So fun to see what we work so hard on & believe in show up in different places.

A Scattering of Spring
I'm at the studio today getting ready for the week. (a Sunday ritual) I had to look for some materails in the print closet & came across some pretty patterns we printed on fabric. We discovered our printer could also print on cotton, linen & silk. The fabric added a new life to the designs be able to drap them, giving them some movement. They seemed to come alive.

Spring Patches
A list of things I look forward to seeing this spring:
-ladybugs
-bright green blades of new grass
-birds making their nest
-longer days filled with sunshine
-crocuses & daffodils popping out of the wet ground
-a sprinkling of color against fields of green
-my winter coat tucked deep in the closet until next year

Old Friends
While at a trip to Target last weekend I saw two of my patterns on Fisher Price bouncers. These were prints they bought a while back. I have to keep my eyes peeled when I'm out & about. I often run into old friends. (that's how I think of the art I sell) Love that they keep the color on these bouncer bright & bold.
