Picnic

Today we had a picnic lunch at Luca's Montessori school.  A school wide celebration for Earth Day held at the grassy meadow on campus.  Fun was had by all.  I brought along my Earth boy finger puppet complete with felt cape.  So cool that they are teaching these little ones to respect & appreciate Mother Earth!

Countdown

The official count down to Surtex has begun.  I will be exhibiting in booth 407 & 409.  I'll update my blog with more news closer to the date.  This year we will license only.  I have made NEW Christmas collections, kids bedding collections & much, much more.  Hope to see you in 25 days!

beautiful spring day- wish I could go out and play!

Sketchbook

I found this art in one of my old sketchbooks. I use to be almost religious about keeping sketchbooks. Through art school & even during my first couple jobs. After having a child & a business I must confess I don't do it much any more. This is something I would like to get back to. When I make art now it's for a deadline & usually has to be done asap.

So the challenge is to find some time to paint, doodle & journal. Let my mind go for no real end result just explore.

Do you ever wonder...

what you will look like when you grow old? I know who has time for stuff like this. I stumbled upon this picture on line & thought WOW- she's adorable! I hope I can pull that off when I'm her age. She looks happy, beautiful - the older version of her little girl self. I guess it's good to have a goal in mind.

Embroidery

I sold both of these prints a while ago. I think they would be perfect for sweet, small, embroideries. I've been wanting to start some needlepoint work. The only problem is time & I just not that patient. I may need to give it a try anyway.

Some eye candy. This would be pretty on fabric at a large scale. Think giant blooms!

Easter Eggs

We dyed our Easter eggs last night. Luca could simply wait NO longer! (he's 4) I forgot how fun it is. Popping in a white egg to a bath of bright color then pulling it out & never quite knowing what you will get. This has inspired me to try a tie- dye project with him this summer. *Revisiting your favorite childhood craft projects is a definite perk of being a parent.
