This piece of art we made reminded me of the color blind test the doctor gives you.

Hermann MO

We got home from New York to unpack our bags then repack them and take off on a road trip to Hermann MO.  Hermann is a little German town on the bluffs of the Missouri river. (known for their vineyards & charming architecture)  We were taken with the little town.  You could tell it's the kind of place that everyone knows everyone. (I'm sure that's both good & bad) We sampled local wines & beers,  ate too much, shopped in folksy antique shops, ran down the giant grassy hill across from our cottage & made some lovely family memories.  So many years we have worked over the Memorial Day weekend this year it was so nice to break that tradition!  Hope you had fun kicking off your summer too.

Back from New York

So just like that we are back from New York & done with Surtex.  Can I say there is no place like home. (click, click)  We had a great show.  Meeting with old clients & new.  We even squeezed some time in to hang out with some friends!  It rained most the time we were there & it even rained indoors. (yep, the Javits Center leaks) But despite the raindrops we had a terrific time!

Ready, Set, SURTEX

I am finishing the last details for the Surtex 2012 show.  This year I will be in booth 407 /409.  I am really looking forward to the show & meeting with clients to let them see what I've been up to.  This year I have hundreds of prints to license, kids bedding collections, some fun Christmas decor & more!

We are bringing my Jill McDonald baby & kids products to share with buyers in hopes of expanding my brand.  We will also have the What a world fabric collection and my labor of love Tada by: Jill McDonald educational wall cards & canvases.  Stop by.... I would love to meet you!

Kids Art

Luca has his end of school bar-b-que last Friday.  Every year they raffle off items as a fund raiser for the school.  This year they had each room create a piece of art to raffle. Each child made their on line work transfer print.  Luca is in the Green room.  As you can see they applied that to their color palette.  I absolutely LOVE what they each did & when each print comes together as one the piece is fantastic!  Antonio & I enjoyed this so much he took it back to our studio & made extra copies for other parent in the class.  This will be hung up front & center in our home.  Just like a photograph this is a visual marker of where he is at -at this point of his life.
