Fall Tradition

Do you have a favorite kind of apple?  (I like pink lady apples which are tart & sweet!) 

Since my son was a toddler we’ve visited the same orchard– Weston Red Barn every September.  We went on an overcast Saturday this year which gave the place a moody feel & and made the red apples really pop!  There’s also an assortment of animals to admire & feed.  This is a little sampling of what we saw.

Autumn Equinox

 Happy first day of fall!  I enjoy the overgrown look my flowers end up with at the end of each September.  Tasseled, wild and vibrant seeming to welcome a respite from the high summer sun.  I particularly love it  when the monarch stop by usually in the late afternoon.

Cover Reveal

 

Time to let out a ROAR!  This is the cover reveal for Hello, World! Kids’ Guides Exploring Dinosaurs picture book – available early next year.  The Kids’ Guides books (ages 3-7) are packed with aged up non fiction facts & are the ideal next step for Hello, World board book fans.  Dinosaurs roamed Earth millions of years ago yet scientist are still discovering new species today!  Dinosaurs continue to deliver in the delight & surprise department.  There’s some fan favorites in this book as well as some new dinosaurs to meet.

Back to school express

 Do you have a child in your life that has started school?  My son started high school a couple weeks ago!  I can barely wrap my head around how quickly the time has gone by & our new wake up time.  

 I wanted to make a less traditional back to school print. (that didn’t include a yellow bus)  This got me thinking about how school is a universal “engine” that connects us all!  As we chug into the new school year I hope it feels back on track with kids ready to learn & teachers feeling supported & inspired.  Good teachers are so important they have the opportunity to change lives!

Farewell Good Queen

 

I'm not British so I don't know what it's like to live in close proximity to a monarchy.  That said (as an American) I do know that Queen Elizabeth reined during 14 different American Presidents and had a sense of calm, dedication and service until the end that was admirable.

She had a front row seat to history like no other & was a constant presence that will be missed by most!

(Not all... because as an adult you know you can't make everyone happy:)
