Almost February!

Today it hit me it's almost February. This makes me happy. February leads into March & March leads into spring. The only other thing that tops this discovery today is that it's FRIDAY! Hope you have a great weekend. (art is painted squares in gauche)

Eclectic Dinner

I doodle a lot & thought I'd post last nights dinner. We did a pretty good job of putting together something healthy for Luca. Falling a bit short for ourselves- it was well... pretty strange. We'll head to the store tonight. What weird combo's do you eat when in a bind?

On the Spot

I've always loved the simplicity & joyous nature of dots. Liz came up with this pattern. I think it's lots of fun.

Will Work for Cookies.

About two weeks ago Pocket Kisses- a book I illustrated for Little Brown came out. This is a very sweet book for toddlers with a pocket heart concept. As a very thoughtful gesture my editor at Little Brown send me a box of Eleni's cookies. Upon opening the pretty packaged cookies Luca wanted to know who they were from. I told him mommy made art for a book & they sent me cookies. He was excited and thought that was a pretty good deal. He turned to me & said "Mommy you're pretty cool. Some day I'm going to work for cookies too!"
Hmmm the power of sugar.

Types of Kisses

This morning Antonio left for Germany. He'll be gone a little over a week. I'll miss him but when he comes back I'm always WAY more appreciative of all he does for us. I snuck him a special something in his bag. I little cut paper collage with a kiss for each day he's away. I'll miss his lips!

Heimtextil

We're gearing up for Heimtextil in Frankfurt Germany January 12- 15th. Antonio will be showing the collection so if your at the show stop by! We have lots of great new art. I'm staying home with Luca. He's an energetic 3 1/2 year old that wouldn't do well with an 8 hour flight to Germany followed by a 3 day trade show. Can't blame him, we struggle with it too sometimes.
