1 of my favorite summer things...
Fireflies! I still feel like I'm 8 years old when I'm catching them. Little sparks of magic & it's fun to introduce Luca to things I loved as a kid. What do you enjoy doing with your little one in summertime?

This morning...
he woke up on the dark side. He can be a real grouch in the morning. (he's a little like his mom) He has become obsessed with Star Wars. Riding around town with his Darth Vader mask on. Our coffee table has been taken over with Star Wars legos & I have 1/2 a sketchbook full of doodles- all his favorite characters. (I'll post some of those soon they're pretty funny) I didn't know much about Stars Wars but I am quickly learning.

Summer Carousel
The summer carousel spins round and round.
I feel my stomach go up and down.
The warm breeze rushes by.
A sparkle of wonder appears in little eyes.
The crowd looks on and mommies wave- HI.
An elephant, a zebra, a painted camel glide by.
The music stops and we begin to slow.
Everyone cheers, it is time to go!
Poem: by me OK, so it's not my forte but it's fun to play around with.
This piece of art felt like it needed a poem.
I gave myself 20 minutes to pull it together. The art was digitally made in Photoshop.
