NEW fabric collection...

My new On Track collection with P & B Textiles will debut later this month at the International Quilt Market in Houston. (October 26th -28th)  As a mother of a little boy I love making fun, playful art for boys. (seems like sometimes they get the short end of the stick- when it comes to exciting options)

This collection was inspired by transportation & the different places it can take you.  To the desert, the beach, the mountain, the sea or sky!  I focused on a variety of vehicles that can take you from here to there & mixed in some play coordinates in stripes, grids & geometrics.

Below is a the roadway panel print packed full of fun detail to explore.

I should receive the fabric samples soon & am excited to play with all the possibilities.  I'd love to see what you come up with so please feel free to share!

chameleon

This is a collaborative piece Luca & I worked on at breakfast this morning.  He's so creative & not yet conscious (& hopefully never too concerned) with what is considered right or wrong with art he just goes for it.

I've had a long week.  As I mentioned I help with the kindergarten lunch.  I ended up with strep throat. Remember that one....ouch! (this thing knocked me out)  Thank goodness for antibiotics.  So like our chameleon my colors are changing...I'm feeling better, it's Friday & a bright blue fall day.

Hope you're feeling good & ready to enjoy a beautiful weekend!

A weekend of FUN...

or at least that is what we're aiming for.  We have a jammed packed weekend full of kids activities :0
Does anybody else feel like kids parties/ events is your only contact with the outside world?  This made me think about the art for todays post. There Was An Old Woman Who Lived In a Shoe from my upcoming board book with C.R. Gibson coming out this January.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

P.S.  What ever happened to date night?

Almost October...

& a very good Sunday here.  Spent the morning making home made halloween decorations with Luca.  He is as prolific as I am :)
We topped it off by making some pumpkin spice muffins.  (we'll be happy to see those tomorrow morning)

Are you looking forward to fall & Halloween?

The Michael J. Fox Show

I'm excited to tune into The Michael J. Fox Show tonight on NBC.  I remember growing up with Family Ties & the Back to the Future movies. (loving Marty McFly)  Like Michael J. Fox my dad has Parkinson's.  With Parkinson's patients you see many similarities.  One of the more significant for many is the dyskinesia (involuntary movements).  I mentioned last April that my dad went through the deep brain stimulation series of surgeries to minimize some of his dyskinesia.  I am happy to say that the surgery has really helped improve his quality of life! (beautiful!)

So I'll tune in tonight to cheer on Michael J. Fox.  It's wonderful to see people not become their disease or situation but instead continue to live & grow.  I am inspired!
