Sometimes I think being a parent means becoming part rooster. You rise with the sun. Even on the weekend! The scary part is we're getting use to it :)

Hawaiian Dream

My parents are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. To do so they took a much deserved trip to Hawaii. They have been a wonderful example of a healthy loving marriage for my 3 brothers & I. Over the last few weeks they've been discussing the big trip. Luca has picked up on this. He made this painting at school & had his teacher title it Hawaiin Dream. He often has his teacher write the title he has given the art on the page. Sometimes his titles are abstract other times pretty profound. I found this one profound. He told me he "paints from his heart". I couldn't say it better myself! I'm also showing my collaged squares & planes print to keep with the travel theme but Luca's art steals the show.

Hear me Roar...

My birthday was yesterday. I celebrated with a dear friend & my family. I've always loved having a summer birthday. We had a great time & I was lucky enough to receive some amazing gifts. Top it all off with a big slice of cake & it was one HAPPY day!

Yellow

I've always liked yellow. I think I'm particularly fond of this color during the summer. (kind of an extra dose of sunshine) Today I'm posting a grouping of yellow things I like. The images are from pintrest. Hope you have a golden day!

Ponies

I'm still settling down from the weekend excitement. The weather was well, HOT! But I will take the heat any day over the frigid cold. We spent Saturday evening riding ponies, playing in the pool & eating lots of birthday cake. I love kiddie parties! Who knew... What a good time!
